Mysty

AKA, ARCHEX UCD SAYRE TOVEN MYSTY OVER EWE CD ASCA-CD RAE RL1X-3 RL2X-3 RLX3-2 RLV RLVX NA NAJ OA CGC CL2-R CL3-S CL2-F CGC

Three years ago we began the journey to determine the source of Mysty’s never

ending, always changing symptoms. Diagnostic tests suggested tick borne

disease(s)and/or seborrhea, but the ‘winner’ of a biopsy indicated that Mysty had

Lupus. We were crushed, and scared, and feeling very tentative about her

chances for a quality of life which would enable her to enjoy life as she has

known it.

And so began the battle to rebuild her strength and manage her compromised

immune system while encouraging her to be the super competitor she has

always been. After several months of successful stabilizing meds and

procedures, Mysty had returned to her feisty, perky and aggressive self. We

were concerned that her reclaimed energy level might leave her open to injury,

so off we went to see Petra et al. Petra began an exercise program that quickly

supported Mysty’s love of life.

Petra asked if we would be interested in trying acupressure. What a blessing this

approach has been! Mysty’s medications used to manage Lupus have been

diminished to a bare minimum, thus reducing the stress on her organs and our

budget. Her blood, work since starting acupressure, would make one think her to

be a dog half her age.

Mysty has continued to be the competitor extraordinaire (being a blue merle

sheltie she doesn’t believe there are only blue ribbons in the universe). She is

deaf as a doorknob and is taking aim at her 15th birthday. She continues to love

the competitive ring and those new titles.

How truly blessed we are to have her so ‘healthy’ and happy. It is great when

east meets west. Petra and our veterinarian have worked together to bring Mysty

to the quality of life she sooooo enjoys.

THANK YOU
